Mas Domnik, the Real Mas (February 12-13)

Kicking off Dominica’s 2024 festival lineup, Mas Domnik, the Real Mas, is the ultimate Carnival celebration, showcasing the islands’ unique blend of African and French traditional roots through music, art, and dance, including a street parade, stadium field crossing and a ‘band meets band.’ The celebration begins in the early hours of J’ouvert morning and culminates with a burial ritual on Ash Wednesday, enticing visitors’ imagination while they experience the ultimate cultural intimacy with the most original carnival in the Caribbean. Revelers from far and wide visit the island for this iconic, two-day event, often coming weeks before, to enjoy the fetes leading up to Carnival on Monday and Tuesday. The festival has established Dominica as a premier cultural destination in the region, fostering collaboration and networking in the fields of tourism, culture, and entertainment through unprecedented immersive experiences.

Dominica’s Jazz ‘N Creole (May 5)

Jazz ‘N Creole is returning to Dominica in 2024, marking its 13th year of celebrating jazz and creole-inspired music, food and culture. Hosted at Fort Shirley in the Cabrits National Park, this family-friendly event allows visitors to experience the infusion of the jazz art form into the Creole culture of Dominica. Jazz ‘N Creole culminates with an iconic week of jazz fringe activities held across the island, making this event an optimal time to visit Dominica. Look out for the lineup of this event to be released soon.

World Creole Music Festival (October 25 -27)

World Creole Music Festival is internationally known for its distinctive blend of musical performances set against the backdrop of the island’s stunning tropical scenery. This annual three-day music festival pays homage to Creole heritage and is part of Dominica’s Independence celebrations. During this time of immense joy as a Creole-influenced country, the nation’s pride can be felt at this festival with live performances, dancing and food. The lineup for the World Creole Music Festival will be released soon.
